    Crafts galore! Watch as your child becomes a young artist using paint, colors, glue, and a wide variety of materials. We will be making crafts based on holidays, the different seasons, and the children’s interests. The crafts will be accompanied by fun books that coordinate with the weekly theme. The children will get to showcase their talents and develop their creativity!

    Apples, pumpkins, and turkeys, oh my! Come join us as we journey through the seasons and holidays. We’ll create a multitude of art projects using a variety of mediums. Materials will include pom poms, craft sticks, sequins and jewels, tissue paper, paper plates, and lots of surprises. We will incorporate literature, music and movement, and flannel board stories, too. Welcome to all with an imagination!

    Love to explore? Grab your “passport” and travel the globe with Art Around the World. Each week, children will learn about a country, receive a stamp in their “passport”, and create a craft inspired by the culture and traditions of that country. Children will use a multitude of materials such as paint, beads, feathers and fabrics. Ask them which country they “visited” today!

    Dive into the world of 3D art! In this playful class, students will explore a variety of clay mediums, different kinds of papers, pipe cleaners, yarn, paint, and more to bring their wildest ideas to life. From sculpting imaginative creatures to crafting imaginative scenes, young artists will discover endless possibilities as they mix, mold, and design. Perfect for kids who love experimenting and creating.

    Are you creative but haven’t mastered a sewing machine yet? This class will teach you how to thread and use a sewing machine and will also include some hand sewing techniques. Projects may include but are not limited to a draw-string bag, pillow, fleece hat and scarf, and stuffed animal. Sewing machines for class use will be provided by Cultural Arts.

    Learn kitchen basics and safety. We will prepare easy meals and snacks and learn about healthy foods through no-heat cooking. Children should bring an open mind to try new foods as they will be able to sample each day’s creations. By the end of the program, they will have an apron and a cookbook filled with yummy recipes for the whole family to enjoy. Parents, before deciding on this class, please consider any food allergies your child may have - ingredients used may cause allergic reactions in some children.

    MAGIC FOR BEGINNERS

    Learn simple but stunning tricks and puzzles using cards, coins, and more. With a little bit of practice, you will have everyone asking “How did you do that?” But, of course, you will never tell since you will take an Oath of Secrecy before we begin!

    Building and learning with LEGO bricks has been a fun and enriching family experience for generations. Enjoy the LEGO experience in a relaxed atmosphere with friends. Most classes incorporate speed building challenges and LEGO Bingo. Have fun with activities such as fashioning your own minifigure, creating innovative LEGO crafts, friendly competitions, and designing your own LEGO mosaic artwork. During every class, LEGO trivia and short, stop-frame animation videos will be shared. Please note this is not a robotics course.

    This class is designed for young scientists who want to learn about how our world works. We will explore animals, soil, volcanoes, mountains, states of matter, astronomy, and more! The activities are fun and hands-on. Come enjoy the exploration of our natural world. Some activities may include food items. Parents must notify Cultural Arts of any food allergies.

    This class is designed to spark children’s curiosity and develop interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). Formulated on project-based learning, this class will give students the opportunity to question, explore, experiment, and solve problems while working together. Activities will be hands-on as students participate in creative, fun-filled, and intriguing projects! Some activities may include food items. Parents must notify Cultural Arts of any food allergies.

    O'Neill - Cafetorium

    Grades: 1, 2, 3 (9:30-10:25)(10:30-11:25)

    This course will introduce the foundations of acting through physical and vocal warm-ups, improvisation basics, simple scene writing and performing, and lots of games where the kids can dream, perform, and develop their creativity.  Music will be used to enhance the theatrical experience through simple songwriting and singing.  The goals of the class are for children to have fun and learn about expressing themselves through this art form.

    Grades: 4 & up (11:30-12:25)

    This class will draw out the dramatic skills of the participants. We will begin with vocal and physical warm-ups followed by theatre appreciation and practice through recent performances on Broadway and TV. Basic improvisation techniques will be introduced as well as scene study and monologue work to deepen the experience and develop skills. Accent work, Shakespeare, and traditional theatre will also be introduced depending on class interest.

    Join us to explore the magic of mindfulness through fun and creative activities. We will do some basic breathing, meditation, and mindfulness exercises before diving into hands-on projects. We will create amazing crafts like mindful mandalas, sensory jars, affirmation flowers, gratitude trees, and more! Children will develop tools to navigate their emotions, reduce stress, improve focus, enhance social relationships
